The reason I was reminded of this story was because of the title of this post, which apparently is the name of a Ganga Adventure sports/rafting company operating in my hometown Rishikesh and was recently suggested by a friend. The name reminded me of a panga that I along with a friend took with Ganga about 15-16 years ago as school kids.
This story is from my school days at Army School Raiwala. The school was in a small military cantt town that lay between the twin holy cities of Rishikesh and Haridwar and was an oasis of alcohol and roast meat in the form of a town which was neither dry and nor vegetarian like its two neighbours.
